Apple store has been giving premium apps for free for quite some time while Google left to the app developers to decide the pricing for themselves. Google wants to catch up. Google Play Store is finally getting its own "Free App of the Week" section. This was first reported by the Android Police team.

It was found by scrolling down in the Apps section (Not currently available in India) . As the name suggests, this will feature a premium app for free for a week. The Google Play is currently listing the Card Wars: Adventure Time in the Free App of the Week section, and shows that the app is free for now while it carries a pricing of $2.99.

it works, it will stay as a permanent feature or just be available in some regions as a separate section (Though you can find the particular free app for free nevertheless ). The app is likely to return to it's original pricing after the week, so download as soon as it's free.

Google Play Store has been witnessing quite a few changes in recent times and this seems to be one of them. As Google Play Store completes it's 5 years, the App Store keeps getting better.
