Blackberry is officially dead!

BlackBerry is officially dead!

The dynamics of the smartphone market have pushed a lot of companies to doom, even big players like Nokia. As Nokia tries to regain its glory with the Nokia 6, Blackberry is hitting rock bottom right now. Years of declining performance and the once glorious "Crackberry" is Cracked-berry now. Yes, you heard it right! BlackBerry virtually has a zero percent share in the Q4 2016.

The shift to Android and recent focus on services has led BlackBerry to its dismal state. Windows is not far behind suffering a fall from 1.1 percent in 2015 to 0.3 percent in Q4 2016. Android (81.7 percent) still leads the pack followed by Apple(17.9 percent share).

Android and Apple overtaking BlackBerry

At this stage, as everything seems to go out of hand for Blackberry, Blackberry in its last dismal attempt has filed a patent suit against Nokia.

From the suit,
Nokia encourages and instructs customers, mobile service providers such as T-Mobile and AT&T, to purchase, deploy and use infringing products to develop and operate their LTE networks and UMTS networks.

The suit doesn't intend to block the use of the technology but collect the damages related to royalty fees it charges for licenses on the technologies.

It seems BlackBerry is trying to play all of its cards in order to start from scratch. This shows how tough it is to stay afloat in the smartphone market.
