Lenovo to release a 2-in-1 Android Laptop

There are some of us, who directly associate Laptop with Windows. But then, there are those, whose first experience with computing has been Android, and when offered a choice, they have no bias against of Laptop powered by that OS. The Yoga A-12 enters the market to cater to the second type of people.

At 299$(about INR 20000), the Yoga A-12  competes with entry level Windows Laptops and Chromebooks, and firmly establishes its position with what it has to offer.

The first thing that catches our attention in this laptop is the design. The sleek laptop is only 0.21 inches at the thinnest point. It has a 12.2 inch screen which can rotate 360 degrees for ease of use.

The keyboard is the highlight. The A-12 has the same futuristic keyboard as the YogaBook, with touch based input rather than physical keys, which makes the laptop lighter and more durable.

The laptop is powered by Intel Atom x-5 chips, and offers 2GB of RAM and 32 gigs of storage. It comes with Android 6 (Marshmallow) onboard, which the company hits will be upgraded to Nougat soon.

The laptop also has a claimed battery life of 13 hours, which would make it much more useful and act as a bonus to the portability which the laptop offers.

It comes in Grey and Rose Gold colors, both of which have become sort of industry standards of 'appealing' ever since the iPhones debuted with them.

Final Thoughts:

The laptop looked refreshing to me. Most of the laptops in this price segment have cheap written all over them; this one does not. However, even though the lines between tablets with Android and Windows laptops is blurring day by day, it still exists, and there are some Windows features which just cannot be emulated on Android. If this is your price bracket, and you're looking for a device for streaming, browsing, document processing, and occasional multitasking, this is a recommendation.
