FB News Feed is getting better everyday- allowing you to "See First" some of the posts and to give user more control to what you can see in your feed, Facebook has introduced the Snooze Button. Facebook product manager Shruthi Muraleedharan wrote in a blog post.

The most important part of this feature is that the concerned friend or group won't know that you have unfollowed them and the effect will revert back to normal after 30 days. It is like a 30-day window to rethink a decision that unfollow makes permanent.
I would say, this is a smart move by Facebook. It comes after a series of events which questioned the role of the social network. An ex-representative of Facebook recently talked about the ill-effects of social media, something FB did take a hit from. The company last week admitted that social media can be bad for you, and said it has a lot to learn.
Another major setback was the fake-news or the US elections' fiasco.
And yet, Facebook still holds tight to its position at the zenith of Social Platforms. One of the main reasons for the strong foothold of Facebook is the ability to "connect"- something it started with, and continues improving every day.
