How to make YouTube play in background

Face it. You read the line above and you are like, "just tell me how to right now!!" Soon enough.

We all use YouTube, and many a times, we aren't watching, but listening. Be it music, podcasts, debates or Audiobooks. But the YouTube app goes dark the moment your display turns off. Which means, to listen, you would have to burn your battery through keeping the display continuously on. Also, this increases chances of you accidentally pressing a button, thus disturbing your playlist.

Fortunately, there's a way to run precious YouTube when your screen is off. Here's how. 

Step 1: Open YouTube through the Google Chrome browser. 

                                                                                                                                                                                   

Step 2: From the options, check the 'Request Desktop Site' option.

                                 
Step 3: Now browse to the video which you want and play it.

                     

Step 4: While the video is playing, lock the screen. The video will pause.

Step 5: From the lockscreen, drop down the notification bar. A Chrome player will be present with your video paused. Press Play.



That's it! You have YouTube playing, right from your lockscreen. No extra downloads, no mods, just a simple trick. Enjoy.
