iPad Mini is almost ready to write it's epitaph

iPad Mini is nearing its end
The little iPad may soon find itself out of the market. A report by BGR  suggests that according to a source "close to Apple," iPad Mini is not going to receive further updates. At WWDC, Apple is set to unveil a new 10.5 inch-display iPad with smaller bezels. Recently, Apple also released cheap 9.7-inch iPad. It only costs $320 which is even cheaper than the $399 iPad mini 4. The popularity has been dwindling and the slashing of the prices for the iPad Mini did not help either.

Both the iPad and iPhone 7 have become more popular than iPad Mini and it has somewhat squeezed between the size and weight of it's other two popular devices. Phones have grown larger and the need for a lighter easy-to-carry separate tablet is not a need anymore.

In 2012, it was sort of a tablet era when phones were 3.5 inches in size and a light device was the need of the day. Then came iPad Mini and was the hot topic of the industry for quite some time with people being excited for the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire Tablet. That era is gone now, so is the necessity of  a mini iPad.

The reports suggest that it will not be a sudden end for the device but it will gradually phase out as the new devices occupy the Apple Store. It was a decently good device for it's time but the requirement faded quickly as bigger smartphones came to the forefront. The official announcement will soon be coming. Let's wait until WWDC to see what plans Apple has for the Mini one.
