TFTF #6- Changhong H2- The phone that can scan molecules.
Changhong H2, has got the industry buzzing.
Announced at the Consumer Electronic Forum, the phone claims to have an inbuilt
tricorder (of Star Trek fame). What this means is, the device can scan through
an object and determine its molecular composition.
The possibilities of such a Technology are endless.
You could scan your veggies and compare your samples online to know if they are
fresh. You could point at that weird looking meat and find out if it’s really
Chicken…Heck, you could point it at a person and find out their BMI.
It is claimed that the device was able to tell
which of the 2 apples were sweeter, or how many carbs were there in a piece of cake.
Watch this Video by PhoneArena to see this in action:
No much is known about the phone, except that it is
going to run Android Nougat and will be available at around 500 dollars (around
34000 rupees), which is a killer deal if it lives up to its promises. The
device uses Scio Molecular Identification Technology to perform its miracles. Basically, the technology assigns everything it scans a molecular signature, and compares it with the database of molecular signatures it already has.
Changhong is better known in China for their
household electronics, and this move to enter the smartphone market with
nothing short of a bombshell is a surprise.
But will it deliver? Can such a phone be feasible
in that price range? We leave for you to decide. Drop your thoughts in the
comments below.
