Quick Tips #3 How to get OnePlus 5 like reading mode on any Android Phone?

OnePlus 5 is here and as expected, is one of the best phones in the market now. One of the features that make it stand out of the league is the  "Reading Mode" and is hailed as the best feature of OnePlus 5. What it basically does is makes reading easy for you. That is what Kindle does, right. What is more surprising that you can get it now on your phone too.

This method was available for quite some time now but rests in the "Developer Mode" of your device. Following are the steps to get reading mode on your phone now:

  1. Enable Developer Mode on your phone. Skip if you have it enabled, otherwise, go to the Settings and scroll to the bottom. Tap on “About phone”. Now scroll down and tap on “build number” 7 times. You should now be able to see Developer Options in the Settings page.
  2. In the available options, click "Simulate Color Space" and select "Monochromacy."
There you go. You get the Reading Mode on your phone like the OnePlus 5. You can revert back by choosing Disabled in the Settings > Developer Options > Simulate Color Space > Disabled.

Easy and simple way to protect your eyes. Enjoy reading without the Kindle.

BONUS- When we say mobile phones damage our eyes, it is actually the blue light. The Monochromacy or the Reading Mode makes sure it is filtered. If you are looking for a third-party application and do not want to get into trouble, you may try Twilight or the Night Mode app as well.
